T-Shirt and Yoga Pants project modeled

T-Shirt and Yoga Pants project

Jennifer’s program was one of everyone’s favorites at the 2017 ASG Conference. Now, you don’t have to spend all that money to get to Conference. She is coming to visit us.

Jennifer will demonstrate how to adjust pattern pieces for a perfect fit. Learn how to figure out how much stretch your fabric really has. You will learn how to get professional results with your knit garments. Discover notions that make finishing your necklines and hems a snap. At the end of the weekend, you will have 2 or 3 finished garments.

The pattern you receive as part of the class kit includes Yoga pants, Tee, Cardi, Raglan Sleeve Top and Tank Top 2 Ways.

See below for What to Bring along with your $40.00 Kit Fee

Welcome to the Easy Fit and Sew Tee and Yoga Pants Workshop. We’ll start by trying on sample tees and yoga pants to quickly figure out your best starting sizes. Then I’ll demonstrate how to adjust the pattern pieces for a perfect fit. Learn how to figure out how much stretch your fabric really has and how it will affect the fit of your tee. After cutting out the pieces it’s time to sew. I’ll show you how to get professional results whether you’re constructing your knit garments on your serger or your sewing machine. Discover notions that make finishing your necklines and hems a snap. You’ll leave with a finished outfit.

Very Special Note: Please RSVP to Donna Alexander at 650-873-6224 or ssfdonna@gmail.com. Sewing space is limited.

Kit includes: Patterns, Fit Workbook and the choice of black or gray Performance Sports Knit Fabric for your yoga pants, stretch needles, fusible knit stay tape.

Sit and Sew for the ASG Fabric Contest

Our goal is two-fold.  One, to have a great showing of camp shirts made from the ASG Fabric Contest Winning design at this year’s conference in Las Vegas.  The second goal and this is the best, is to have fun with our sewing friends and make a cool camp shirt too!  Not interested in a camp shirt?  Bring anything you would like to work on.

If you have your fabric or can get it in time, pre-launder and bring it with you.  If not, then bring your camp shirt pattern for tissue fitting.  If you would like to make a test garment, cotton muslin, or gingham, or another lightweight cotton, linen, or blend are great for test garments.

Congratulations to Cecelia Harris on her winning design for the ASG 2017 Fabric Design Contest sponsored by Brother. She also created 3 companion designs that will make up our official ASG fabric line and can be purchased at MyFabricDesigns.com.
Cecelia’s winning design was selected by a vote by chapter presidents earlier this year. The winning entry was her original design that featured dress forms with the ASG logo inside, sitting on a background of scripted fabric names.
